Apache Door/Super Apache Door


Apache Door

A door of an Apache house. Also called "Rug" or "Blanket" (Navajo).

1. Do Opening A.

2. Insert thumbs and all fingers into index-finger loops from below and put down the loops on the wrists.

3. Thumbs pick up near little-finger strings.

4. Little fingers pick up far thumb strings.



5. Bring all the strings running between the hands to the back of the right hand through between the right thumb and index finger.



6. The left hand picks up both right thumb loops and holds them temporarily.

 

7. Bring back the strings running between the hands to the original position and then put back the right thumb loops.

 

8. Do Steps 5-7 for the left-hand side using the right hand.

9. Remove wrist loops. Here is an Apache Door.

Super Apache Door

As in the case of Seven Diamonds, you can increase the number of meshes by using the following technique. A long loop is required.

1. Do Opening A.

2. Give a 360-degree twist away from you to thumb loops, a 360-degree twist toward you to little-finger loops
   and a 180-degree twist toward you to index-finger loops.



3. Do Steps 2-9 of Apache Door.
